Another Roxane....

My addiction to obscure French made guitars continues...

Thanks to my good friend MAX who finally buckled and sold me his beautiful LAG ROXANNE VINTAGE.

It's 10 years old and has the old two "N" spelling.

French made LAG number 5 for my collection!

I'd seen his pics of it maybe a year ago and I've been nagging him to let me have it since.

I guess it finally got a bit much and the deal was done!

A guitar shaped parcel arrived for me at work a few days ago, and I'm still full of new guitar joy!

I think that's going to be it guitar purchase wise or a while, but I have enough of a guitar-harem to not be too bothered if I have to gig the same ones for a while.

Here she is!

THE SOHO COBRAS official debut show bootleg...FREE MP3 OF THE WHOLE SHOW

Not a lot else to say.

I'm still very pleased with how the show went, I just posted links to video for the whole night, but here's your chance to steal the whole thing as MP3s...

It's nothing very spectacular, just the audio from the MP3's has been ripped off and placed on my reverbnation.com player for a  few weeks

You can either download them form the reverbnation media player at the side of this blog (if you can't see that, you may be reading it somewhere else so go to: http://rob-silver.blogspot.com/ and the media player will be down the right hand side of your screen)

What ever the main article is check down the  right hand side for downloadable MP3s.

Or you can click on the link HERE and listen to or download the whole thing :-)

all in all a great night :-)

Here's a few random live shots from what I've found so far...

My Babies...

We've had a few weeks off rehearsal and gigging while everyone has been on holiday and going to festivals, so nothing has really been going on. I'm getting a bit tetchy now and I'm looking forward to rehearsing and playing live again after the "summer break."
What I have been doing though is taking pics of my lovely guitars.

So for your viewing pleasure here is my lovely LAG Roxane collection:

This one is an early 20oo's Roxane Classic. In a natural finish. All stock except for chrome himbucker surrounds.

This one is a Roxane RS1000 in tobacco burst. Again all stock except for chrome humbucker surrounds.

This one is a Roxane RF1000 in Cherry Sunburst. Lovely maple top and it's packing Seymour Duncan P-90 pickups. I haven'y gigged this one yet, but I think that will change next month when we support the Gypsy Pistoleros.

Some video from the last Burnley gig.

Just a quick one.

Steevi has put up some new live footage from a few gigs on youtube.
There's a track recorded at Sanctuary Rock Bar in Burnely. It's called "Heartbreak High," one of our newest tracks that we open the set with now. There's also a couple of tracks from the last gig we did at the Wheatsheaf in Oxford, "Boyz will be Boyz" and "FDR."

There'll be a ton of new stuff to come over the next few days so there will be a lot of new video to follow, including the live debut of my newest Lag Roxane and some footage of Dave falling over and not being able to play after drinking so much he could barely stand.

Enjoy:

Rocking out in Oxford

I've had a pretty cool month. I bought TWO new guitars, a beautiful LAG Roxane Classic in a natural mahogany finish in the pics below and a LAG Roxane RF1000 in Cherry sunburst. Both are amazing French made models. More pics of my new toys will follow.

We also had a really fun gig in Oxford on friday. I guess we played pretty sloppily, but we went down really well and had a fantastic time. Two things really stood out for me, a guy in a wheel chair climbed up a flight of stair with just his arms to see us, and for the first time ever we had literally everyone in the place singing along. I could hear people shouting the chorus to a couple of songs over my half stack! So it's all good.
We also got some cool pics from Johnny Moto a few of which are posted here.
There was also some live video to the last song "Triple-X" which we probably shouldn't have played until we had rehearsed it more, but we had run out of songs for the encore!

Here's the video anyway, you get the end of "FDR" and all of "Triple-X".

Enjoy.
