THE SOHO COBRAS have a singer!

After quite a long search we finally have a singer!

If I'm honest, we had been looking for a guy, but after I got an email asking, "Would you try out a girl?" I thought , "Why not."

As long as you bring a voice and some attitude, then we'll give you a go.

I ran through the songs with her last week because we don't have much stuff demoed yet and I was really blown away. She picked up the tracks really quickly and belted them out with more confidence than anyone we had seen before.  It was the first time I'd been singing guide vocals for anyone that tried out and... well, felt embaressed singing along.

We invited her along to rehearsal today and everybody was really fucking impressed.

So welcome aboard HAZEL SAVAGE formerly singer/guitarist of all girl punk three piece GinKinta.

Our first gig is booked for April, so I'm really looking forward to it. We'll be demoing some tracks as soon as we can now that we have vocals in place.

Loads of gigs, here we come!

Harmonic and Melodic Minor Scales, A couple of short summary sheets

Not a lot to report, but while I'm twiddling my thumbs waiting to audition some more singers for THE SOHO COBRAS I thought I would pop up some more guitar stuff.

These are some quick revision sheets for The Harmonic and Melodic Minor Scales.

EDIT: The widget that displayed the PDFs kept crashing, so I have replaced them with much nicer versions of the diagrams as image files.  Rob- 30/04/12

Blues scales, mapped out in all positions...

I'm feeling a bit down, so here's some diagrams of the Minor and Major Blues Scales for you all to amuse yourselves with.

I'm getting really fond of the Major Blues Scale, so that's how I'm going to be filling up my evenings this week.

It's really cold out side still, but the snow seems to have gone for now.

I really should be demoing guitars at a sunny music show somewhere instead of trudging through the snow every morning this week on my way to a tedious trade show, but hey, what can you do...

All this historical angst is great and all, but I've just got some awesome guitar diagram software so I'm updating all the older stuff to sexy new diagrams. I'm editing things at the old urls like this because I've linked to the resources in loads of places.
Don't forget that there is a ton of FREE stuff on my site already and this new software has inspired me to go crazy moving forward.
